Job Description

This position will significantly improve the plant’s performance by managing the maintenance personnel while operating in a team-based environment. Responsible for equipment uptime. This position will report to the Plant Manager.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Foster a culture of safety awareness and safety prioritization.
  • Complies with Nova Steel USA and OSHA safety policies and safe practices to include lock out/ tag out, safety data sheets and hazardous material usage.
  • Diagnoses and repairs, services & inspects facility equipment & property to include overhead cranes, production machinery, material handling and facility grounds.
  • Reviews work requests to determine problem & resolution, arranges schedules that results in minimum equipment downtime.
  • Inspects or tests damaged machines & makes the appropriate repairs & notifies the Management of repair needs & problems that might affect production schedules.
  • Performs building and equipment maintenance, repair, and improvements. Performs preventive maintenance on CNC machinery, electrical and hydraulic systems, overhead cranes, and other fabricating equipment.
  • Installs, replaces, or changes machine parts, attachments, and new equipment according to production specifications.
  • Schedules outside contractors to perform major repairs & monitors the work performed
  • Reassembles machines after completion of repair and maintenance work.
  • Lubricates or applies adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment according to specified procedures.
  • Records production, repair, and machine maintenance information.
  • Reads maintenance repair work orders and specifications to determine machine & equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
  • Inspects, operates or test machinery/equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Plans repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals or schematic diagrams.
  • Executes and implements a preventive maintenance program to improve equipment reliability.
  • Supervising the maintenance team and operations in resolving problems
  • Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities
  • Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.



  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Technical/Vocational Training a Plus

Experience & Certifications

  • Experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years maintenance experience required
  • Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and perform repairs
  • Forklift/Overhead Crane Certified preferred.
  • Ability to read English to read maintenance work orders, schematic drawings/blueprints, and maintenance/safety manuals
  • Strong organizational skills are required
  • Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • Close mental and visual attention required, coordinating manual dexterity with mental and visual attention for sustained periods of time.
  • Pass initial drug test.
